Dear First Site Residents,
In light of recent news regarding Illinois State University extending e-learning through the end of the semester, we wanted to reach out to our residents for further clarification regarding housing. We do recognize that many of our residents are not students or utilize their current housing as their primary address. We want to assure and remind all student residents that the decision to extend e-learning does not affect your lease agreement that is in-place. In fact, the internet in your apartment is perfect for e-learning:
· Incredible bandwidth allowing much more data to flow through the fiber line than any other technology
· All the speed you and your roommates need, without sharing your connection with neighbors
· Consistently fast, 24/7, with no slowdowns
First Site and all our properties/facilities will be remaining open and operational. Residents’ legal obligations pursuant to their leases shall continue including monthly rent payments.
Due to the COVID-19 health crises, First Site will not be completing any move-out inspections until the end of the lease term for current residents. Move-out information will be delivered in early April via text, email, and our website with complete instructions, apartment preparation checklist, key envelope for key return and other move-out procedures for when your lease expires in May. In the event that you want to return your key now, you can visit our office to do so. We’ll have you sign a form explaining our inspection timeline.
Again, First Site will remain open and will continue to operate with regular hours, policies and procedures. We are available 365 days per year, this also includes our maintenance team. We will continue work towards the safety of all residents by increasing cleaning of common areas, hallways, stairways, gyms and fitness centers, meeting rooms, common area bathrooms, laundry rooms and more. Our goal - in this time and always, is to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment. Remember to use the “Resident Portal” app to communicate regarding rent, maintenance requests or general questions.
